You are not alone.

When we feel distressing emotions, we worry that something is wrong with us. The truth is that it’s normal to have unpleasant feelings and more common than you would imagine. We need to normalize the full spectrum of human emotion and learn how to care for ourselves in turbulent times.

Common issues that bring clients to therapy include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, and relationship struggles, amongst others.

If you are feeling pain, uncertainty or alone in your struggles, individual therapy can help.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) Therapy

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy designed to help people heal from the emotional distress caused by traumatic or overwhelming life experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR works by helping the brain reprocess stuck memories so they can be stored in a more adaptive, less distressing way. EMDR is an evidence-based therapy designed to help people heal from the emotional distress caused by traumatic or overwhelming life experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR works by helping the brain reprocess stuck memories so they can be stored in a more adaptive, less distressing way.

During an EMDR session, you'll be guided to briefly focus on a difficult memory while engaging in bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones—which supports the brain’s natural healing process. This helps reduce the emotional charge of past events and allows new, more empowering beliefs to emerge.

EMDR is widely used to treat PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related symptoms. It’s a structured, eight-phase approach that moves at your pace, with a strong emphasis on safety, stabilization, and resourcing before processing begins.

You don’t need to talk in detail about your trauma for EMDR to be effective. The process is collaborative and grounded in your comfort level every step of the way.

I am a registered social worker (RSW, MSW) and a passionate life-long learner. My first career was as a teacher and I hold a Bachelor and Masters degree in Education. I am excited to be available for supervision services to mentor, teach and support other therapists.

I practice psychodynamic therapy and have trained in CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Gottman Method Therapy. I use an integrated approach to therapy, drawing from various modalities to suit clients’ needs. I will draw from the modalities listed above as well as Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Janina Fisher’s Parts/Integrative Trauma Therapy, amongst others.
I have completed extensive training in Somatic Therapies including Breath Work, Mindfulness, Yoga, Meditation and other somatic approaches. I'm a huge fan of polyvagal therapy.
I have also dedicated a great deal of time and study to supporting those with caregiver fatigue and through our work together will be ensuring that you as a practitioner are “putting your oxygen mask on first” so to speak. Our own self-care as therapists is essential to our well-being, preventing burnout and ultimately ensuring we are able to provide the best service possible to our clients.
I am offering clinical supervision to Social Work and Psychotherapy interns (I am a Laurier approved field instructor), RPQs, RPs, and Social Workers. . As an educator, clinician, and now clinical supervisor, I believe that effective counselling begins with a therapist’s ability to remain authentic while building strong therapeutic relationships. My supervision philosophy reflects this by encouraging therapists to stay connected both to their clients and to themselves in the clinical space. I emphasize the importance of integrating theory with practice while also exploring the clinician’s emotional responses in session, as these are key to fostering critical reflection on their Safe and Effective Use of Self (SEUS). I aim to support therapists as they develop and refine their professional identity, placing value on self-reflection, case conceptualization, and skill development, while also highlighting the importance of intentionality when selecting specific modalities and techniques.
I look forward to the opportunity to learn more about you and your goals as a therapist!
